A day off...! No, really!

I guess the title of this post gives it away, but I ACTUALLY had a day off! and it was awesome! the best bit was the lack of an itinerary so everything just kind of happened, and it worked beautifully!
Soho, Victoria Park, back to Columbia Rd. Hackney and Spitalfields on Sunday AWESOME!

Went to the very dreaded Berwick St. and it felt amazing not to turn the corner feeling sick at the anticipation the large sum of money that would be spent when reaching the other end. Let me explain that a bit better... Berwick St. is full of fabric shops, such as the famous Cloth House. Last year there were many very important trips down this street to purchase fabrics for my final collection. The pressure is inexplicable and the prices don't help either... It was a relief to be able to walk down it and not even enter a fabric shop, just concentrate on taking pictures!

(btw, this picture is just on the end of Berwick St. don't think that the fabric shops are hidden amongst the private dance parlours)

Ok, so I didn't completely avoid the fabric shops... This is the window display at the Cloth House and I couldn't help taking a picture. The rusty keys looked so good against the bright coloured fabric, I reckon they would make quite a good statement necklace too!

Models wanted - 3rd floor

Skylines and Outlines

'It comes alive on Sundays' - Quote overheard from a passer by on Columbia Rd.

Nice East London Houses

With a Spring in my Step

Close, Closer Closest

Spitalfields Market - Sunday

We saw these -I'm going to assume- drama students doing some sort of dance ritual in the middle of Hoxton Square. Im not going to pretend to understand what was going on but it trully was entertaining to watch all the same!

Sunday + Columbia Road + Nice Weather = TOO MANY PEOPLE!!!

Having worked on Saturday night I thought a nice lie in was in order so agreeing not to meet my friend Zoe until midday seemed like an acceptable idea , meaning we got to Columbia Rd. flower Market at about 12.30 and... OH MY DAYS was it packed! It felt like a waste of appreciation of beauty walking behind the stalls rather that down the middle, but I honestly think we would still be there now had we braved the crowd.
I did manage to get a few pictures of the experience and left with the promise of going back, much earlier next time.....

You can already see from here how many people there were but the stalls are truly incredible and I'm not going to curse all the other visitor because I guess everyone deserves to enjoy all these amazing colours

Walking round the back of the stalls wasn't all too bad as it meant we got to see all the quirky shops along the street

I really like this picture, maybe because for some immediate judgemental reason I wouldn't expect this guy to be carrying such an stunning bunch of flowers, they do suit him though!

People people everywhere and not a place to stand

As always street musicians really set the vibe and I think they are just as important as the colours, the stalls as the masses people present on the day

I was looking for a plant for my room on this particular day but alas, these pictures will have to satisfy my botanical needs for the time being

Also in one of the side shop windows we spotted this fun lady made up of, well, everything! You should check her out!
